The Mayor says the City has received 150 FOIL requests in 2020 as of meeting time, an increase which he says is partially because of the change in laws regarding the release of police discipline records.Jamestown City Clerk Jennifer Williams says the utilization of NextRequest will simplify the process for the City. “The FOIL process is very antiquated in our office,” Williams said. “This will free up our time…..and should really streamline the process.”Williams says anyone who submits a request will instantly receive a response stating the City received the request, and the City will receive a message saying a request was submitted. From there, the official in charge of the department that the request involves can respond with the records if they’re releasable.Williams says that various “sensitive” matters, such as requests for police discipline records, are also forwarded to Corporation Counsel, Elliot Raimondo, for review to determine whether or not the request can be met.The service will be free to the City, according to Sundquist. The Mayor says anyone who is dissatisfied with the FOIL response can file an appeal with his office.Share:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to email this to a friend (Opens in new window)last_img read more

first_imgA main barrier to putting in place a supplemental executive retirement/retention plan is that credit union boards don’t know how to start. How much beyond an annual salary and bonus—if anything—should it take to reward, retain, or recruit excellent leaders? It may be counter-intuitive, but the key is not to start with numbers. Instead, start by defining the purpose of your SERP.Defining the general purpose is the easy part: SERPs can help create continuity of strong leadership in credit unions. They give credit unions a tool for competing with stock options and other benefits our commercial counterparts can offer their executives. However, each SERP should also serve a specific goal, one that’s unique to each credit union and executive. Take these three steps to create a SERP that’s designed to serve the specific goals of the recipient—while also serving your credit union’s long-term strategy. continue reading » ShareShareSharePrintMailGooglePinterestDiggRedditStumbleuponDeliciousBufferTumblrlast_img read more

first_imgBrisbane Times 22 June 2012The Queensland government will ban single people and same-sex couples from having a child through surrogacy, in a bombshell move announced during a fiery overnight debate on watering down same-sex civil unions. In a move that will further inflame the anger of Queensland’s LGBT community, Attorney-General Jarrod Bleijie announced about 10.20pm that the government would introduce in the future a bill to reshape the altruistic surrogacy law. Mr Bleijie said the Newman government’s law would be similar to the one proposed by the Liberal National Party’s Lawrence Springborg several years ago, and would repeal Surrogacy Act provisions dealing with single people, same-sex couples, or any de facto couple that had been together for fewer than two years. “That was a clear commitment many years ago when that debate originally took place,” Mr Bleijie said of the future surrogacy changes. Altruistic surrogacy is the process by which a woman carries a baby for another person or couple, for no payment. The changes would restrict access to heterosexual couples only.http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/queensland/gays-face-surrogacy-ban-as-lnp-pushes-civil-union-changes-20120621-20q9j.htmllast_img read more

first_img Press Association The Scotland international has not featured for Villa since May 2012 and is currently training with the club’s development squad. Villa’s belt-tightening regime is no secret, with Lambert operating under financial restraints ever since arriving in the midlands in the summer of 2012. Hutton’s unexplained absence has perplexed some observers, while Villa have been unable to offload the right-back apart from loan spells at Nottingham Forest and Real Mallorca. Lambert has now revealed that Hutton’s Villa career is essentially over because the club need to offload his reported £40,000 weekly salary. Asked whether Hutton – who is still being selected by Scotland boss Gordon Strachan – has a chance of ever playing for Villa again, Lambert said: “I’ve had good conversations with Alan and in the games I’ve seen him play for Scotland he’s done well. “It would be unlikely that he would play. He knows that anyway. We haven’t fallen out. “We need to get the (wage) structure down to a level. There’s never been any fall-out, I’ve actually tried to help him get a loan move. “I’ve been to a couple of Scotland games and seen him do well. You’d think somebody would come in for him. The lad has to play.” Lambert admitted the situation is “more or less” purely down to money and concedes the situation needs to be resolved, with Hutton having another year to run on his deal after this season. “I wouldn’t have thought it could carry on for another 12 months, into next season,” the manager said. “I wouldn’t want that for him. We need someone to come in for him.” center_img Manager Paul Lambert has admitted for the first time that defender Alan Hutton has been frozen out of the Aston Villa squad due to financial constraints at the club.last_img read more

first_imgIrving started the game 1 for 9 from the field, but Horford picked up the scoring load for the Celtics, connecting on 5 of his 9 attempts from the field.THOMAS RETURNSIsaiah Thomas received lots of love from the Celtics during his latest return to the city he said still feels like home despite multiple stops the past two seasons.A video highlighting Thomas’ time in Boston was shown during a timeout in the first quarter and ended with an extended standing ovation from fans and players and coaches from both teams.Denver coach Michael Malone previously informed Thomas he was being dropped from the rotation in preparation for the playoffs. But he inserted the 5-foot-9 guard into the game with 2:42 left in the first quarter.Thomas started slowly missing two shots, stepping out bounds and fouling Daniel Theis on his way in for a dunk. He started the second quarter and played a total of seven minutes for the game, finishing with no points and two assists.A two-time All-Star in Boston, Thomas was blindsided by the trade that sent him to the Cleveland Cavaliers as part of the deal that brought Kyrie Irving to the Celtics in the summer of 2017. He was dealt to the Lakers at the trade deadline that next season, before landing in Denver this past summer. He says the hip injury that slowed him during his final season in Boston is healed and that whatever happens he is going into free agency this summer with open eyes. That includes being open to a possible return to Boston.“You never know what could happen,” Thomas said. “My options are always open no matter what it is. If I end up back here at some point. That would make the story that much better.”UP NEXT The game felt like a matchup between two postseason-bound teams. It stayed tight at the start of the second half, with neither team holding more than a two-possession lead in the third quarter. But the Nuggets got some breathing room in the final period and took a 106-94 lead with 3:47 left in the game.Boston scored seven straight to get it within five, but Barton stopped the run with a layup. Following a missed 3-pointer by Horford on the other end, Paul Millsap all but sealed it with a four-point play that made it 112-101 with 31.3 seconds remaining.TIP-INSNuggets: Jokic recorded his 39th double-double of the season.Celtics: Played without Gordon Hayward (concussion protocol) and Robert Williams (illness).FAST HALFThe pace was rapid throughout the first half. The teams combined for 107 points in the opening 24 minutes.
