first_imgRoyal Enfield had launched the Continental GT in India way back in 2013, with mid-life makeover coming in 2015. Originally launched in Yellow and Red paint schemes, the Continental GT became the first Royal Enfield motorcycle to get a yellow body paint. Now, reports suggest that the company has hiked the price of the Continental GT by up to Rs 3,759 from July 1, 2017. Now, post the Goods and Service Tax (GST), the Royal Enfield Continental GT is available at an increased price of Rs 2.08 lakh (ex showroom, New Delhi).Manufactured at the Royal Enfield’s Oragadam plant in Chennai, the Continental GT was a mammoth project for the company. It sports a twin downtube chassis and is loaded with goodies like Paioli twin gas charged shocks at the back and large 41mm telescopic forks up front. Even the brakes are top class Brembo discs mounted both up front and back.Adding to it is the 535cc engine which though a bored out unit of the older 500cc was more powerful and offered more torque as well. Needless to say, the Continental GT sports looks to die for. The bike is available in a single seat format with a twin seat available as an option. The brilliant bar end mirrors are also on the option list. The icing on the cake is the tyre package from Pirelli, which do a good job of gripping the tarmac. So overall the GT has proved to be quite an eye-catching machine.ALSO READ:GST: Honda, Ford, TVS, Suzuki slash prices of select models in IndiaadvertisementALSO READ:GST: Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata Motors, Mahindra sales take a hit in Junelast_img read more
